Technical Creativity or Protection Technique?

Recently I came to know that many microchips have microscopic images hidden on them by the chip designers.

I don't know what is the intention behind it.But I doubt the security of our Information.As i came across this images i think they may have inserted some circuits which will send all the information stored in our computer.

We have to think about our information security.
